| | | Dak Lak: The value of industrial production in 5 months in 2009 reached 955 billion VND | The value of industrial production in May of 2009 reached 179,177 million VND, increasing 0.2% compared with the April, increasing 12.2% compared with the same period in 2008. In which, State industrial enterprises reached 25,284 million VND, increased 0.4% compared with April, decreased 42.9% compared with the same period in 2008; private industrial companies reached 152,568 million, increasing 0.1% compared with 4/2009, increasing 24.2% compared with the same period in 2008; Foreign investment companies reached 1,325 million VND, increasing 58.7% compared with the same period in 2008. So, in 5 first months of this year, our province exported 150,000 tons of coffee with export turnover reaching about 230 million USD, accounting for 85% of total export turnover of the province. Beside of coffee, we also exported 4,150 tons of rubber, 1,650 tons of pepper; 21,000 tons of cassava products, 1,900 tons of honey and some other items ... with total export turnover of the province in 5 first months of 270 million USD, decreased 29% compared with the same period last year. According to the calculation of many enterprises, with this price, it is only equal or lower compared with the cost, making farmers disadvantageous. Dak Lak province as well as export enterprises should recommend farmers limiting to sell coffee in abundance in order to wait high price. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thai – Director of Thang Loi coffee Company advises farmers not to sell coffee in abundance in this time when the price is lower than the cost that will make the price lower.
